Dr. Jinyuan Chang received his Ph.D. in Economics from the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University in July 2013. From September 2013 to February 2017, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Melbourne. He currently serves as Executive Dean of the Institute for Statistics and Interdisciplinary Innovation at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and as Director of the Joint Laboratory for Data Science and Business Intelligence. He is also a Professor in the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science at Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Postdoctoral fellow Shuang Dai awarded Band C Funding in National Postdoctoral Support Program
Recently, the Office of the National Postdoctoral Management Committee and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation announced the evaluation results of the 2025 National Postdoctoral Support Program (hereafter referred to as the "National Support Program"). Postdoctoral researcher Dai Shuang has been awarded Band C funding for her project "Research on Sufficient Dimension Reduction Theory and Algorithms under Complex Data Conditions."
Prof. Jinyuan Chang has been elected as a member of the 14th committee of All-China Youth Federation
On July 2-3, 2025, the plenary session of the 14th committee of the All-China Youth Federation（ACYF） was held in Beijing. The session reviewed relevant work reports, discussed and amended the ACYF Constitution, and elected a new leading body for the federation. Prof. Jinyuan Chang was elected as a member of the 14th Committee of All-China Youth Federation.

The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) has recently announced the evaluation results of its Major Programs for 2024. The Major Program titled “Statistical Management Theory of Large-Scale Business Scenarios”, led by Prof. Jinyuan Chang from the Joint Laboratory of Data Science and Business Intelligence at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE), has been officially approved. The project is a joint effort with Prof. Weidong Liu of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Researcher Xinyu Zhang from the Institute of Mathematics and System Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Gang Kou of SWUFE, and Prof. Hansheng Wang of Peking University.
