Recently, the National Bureau of Statistics announced the approval of the 2025 Major Statistical Special Projects. The project “Theory and Application of Population Statistics Integrating Sampling Surveys and Multi-Source Big Data”, led by Dr. Lei Chen, was successfully approved.
Dr. Lei Chen obtained his doctoral degree in Economics from Guanghua School of Management, Peking University in July 2020. From November 2020 to December 2022, he conducted joint postdoctoral research with JD Group at the PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University. He is currently a lecturer in the Department of Economic Statistics at the School of Statistics, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, a member of the Institute for Statistics and Interdisciplinary Innovation, and a member of the Joint Laboratory of Data Science and Business Intelligence. The main research directions are artificial intelligence methods, spatiotemporal statistical analysis, and cross disciplinary research between big data and macroeconomics.
